The reliefs and figures conserved in Medina del Campo reveal the strong influence of Flemish art and date from the first quarter of the XVI century. Though they were attributed to a Brabant workshop for several years, certain evidence now suggests they are the work of a Flemish artist who was living in Castile. Indeed, the reliefs and figures were apparently admired so highly, they were incorporated into a locally-manufactured pictorial altarpiece shortly after they were made.
