SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST ALTARPIECE

The Belmonte altarpiece is not one of the best-known Flemish altarpieces despite its  many truly outstanding features, amongst which figure its very early chronology and the singularity of its iconography, both of which make the altarpiece just one of the many surprises awaiting visitors to the collegiate church in this town in the province of Cuenca.
