Polychrome decoration with a preponderance of burnished gilt, the intense blues of azurite and the whites of headdresses, boots and fabrics. Some small details on the frame, traceries and openwork have been picked out in green and red glazes. Flesh tones are pale without too many details.
Decorative techniques:
• Assorted gilt star motifs on red frames.
• Gilt applied brocade with fine details on several garments being picked out in colour.
• Large format (20 x 12.5 cm) non gilded, vertically striped applied brocade with fine details being picked out in colour on the sides of the main frame of the altarpiece.
• Fleurs-de-lys and gold paper stars applied to a background of blue azurite.
