The case is made from oak and crowned with an arch with smooth concave and convex waves. The altarpiece comprises a central compartment and two carved wings. The rear of the altarpiece is made up of five vertical boards of wood made by splitting the trunks and joined together in simple butt joint reinforced with wooden crossbeams. The attic is made up of three horizontal tongue and groove jointed panels that have been tailored to fit the curved shape of the closed case.
Wings comprising two or three vertical boards can be closed over the altarpiece's case. However, given the shape of the case, they do not cover it completely as is usually the case in this kind of altarpieces. Closing and protecting the altarpiece is done using the two large hinges located on the upper part of the altarpiece that permit the attic to be folded down over the case, closing the area not covered by the wings.
Groups of figures are heterogeneous regarding their shape and size whether they be of one single figure or a large number of people and/or fragments of landscape attached to the rear and case of the altarpiece by dowels.
