SUPPORT

An oak frame, composed of two independent modules. The upper exterior angles seem to be joined with dovetail joints reinforced by nails and the lower ones with double mortise and tenon.

The back is formed of ten boards, with splitting marks and marks made by a hook knife. They are joined on top with vshaped tongue and grave joint, and the joint is reinforced with glue and crossbars. Of these last examples, the ones which have bevelled edges and are adapted to the irregularity of the rear may be original.

The doors of the enclosure are missing, with the mortise of the original hinge system still in place. The compartments are formed of backgrounds made using narrow boards, representing architectural interiors. The different sculptural groups are executed using a single piece of wood with additional elements. The finish is very neat, even in the hidden areas.
