SCIENTIFIC ANALYSES 

• Chemical analysis of micro samples of polychromy: ARTE-LAB S.L, Analysis and Documentation of Works of Art, Madrid. Some results:

- 350 - 500 µm thick calcium carbonate preparation applied  in several coats. -Strong impregnation of glue in preparation.

- Mordant yellowish ochre made of yellow clay, white lead carbonate and linseed oil.

- Gold:  97.5 %. Gold + 2.5 % Silver.

- Flesh tones painted in two coats, the first of which was a stronger pink. Made up of white lead carbonate, minium or red lead, vermilion and calcium carbonate.

• Infra-red reflectography of the paintings on the predella: the Alava County Council's Restoration Department. Underlying sketches in the three paintings were executed in graphite with firm, quick, schematic strokes.
